Forming a Cyber Security Plan for Your Business.
Cyber security is something that should never be ignored. Business should have a flexible Cyber Security plan in place so that they can always be safe from these kinds of attacks. The strategies that are there are not a hundred percent effective in preventing the cyber attacks and also the data breaches, but there are some strategies that you can implement to help keep and maintain the integrity of the systems.
Do a proper security check of your employees. It is important that you conduct a proper background check on all the employees before they start working in your organization. Cross check with all your employees information to be sure that they have a straight record. Ensure that at no point will the employees be tempted to sabotage the cyber security of your business because they are angry. Sometimes when you put so much in your employees to the extent of understanding the companies operations and the organization including the data flow, when you fall apart they would want to get back at you by sabotaging your operations in the company and so you need to be very sure and careful on who you give these positions of trust because if the employees is not sober enough he or she can cause a serious security breach.
Let the end user understand and know the importance of the Cyber Security for your business. Let them understand the importance of using strong passwords. Train them on the use and the need to protect their passwords and keeping them as a secret because if anyone who is not trusted can get a hold of the password they can cause very serious information breach. Another common cause of the breaches is the human error. The company should, therefore, organize for training programs so that the end user can be educated on the most important issues such as the use and the importance of using strong passwords. Social media can also be another way that the security of your business can be breached. Another important thing that you have to know is the count of all the assets that are in your business. Some of the necessary, important things include the external hard drives, computers flash drives and many others. This will give you an idea if for example a laptop or a flash drive went missing, and if any of these devices contained confidential information, with one of it fell into the wrong hands that can threaten the security of the company.
Computers always contain information even if they are old and anyone can pick the hard drive and retrieve all the data if they want and use it to hack your company computers so always ensure that they are destroyed and not just disposed of.
